An Analysis of Feminism Perspectives Depicted in Mad Max.
Mad Max: Fury Road is a spectacular film, and while it may not seem to be the most thought-provoking movie, there is a lot of hidden depth that can be discovered.Mad Max is a movie that portrays women in a positive, feminist manner. The female characters challenge stereotypes and the film exhibits that throughout the movie. I am interested in using Mad Max: Fury Road because when I watched it for the first time, it left me thinking about how women should be portrayed more like Furiosa.Mad Max Fury Road directed and written by George Miller is an Action movie and explores themes such as feminism and an apocalyptic future. The film is set in a desert wasteland in Australia and follows the characters of Max and Furiosa.
According to Ensler, Mad Max: Fury Road is a feminist film and Miller himself is a feminist who wanted to create empowered characters, not victims, sidekicks or damsels in distress. For Ensler, the film's feminism is principally expressed through the females' characterization as fierce and strong, whilst also being compassionate and loving.Long after the water wars, and the oil wars, and the nuclear wars, the characters of Mad Max: Fury Road find themselves stranded in the wasteland to waste all wastelands. While we don't have a lot of details on how the world got quite so terrible, we can assume that civilization has experienced some sort of post-industrial eco-collapse.
